TED TYCZKA
Founder & Principal

Ted Tyczka is the founder, owner and President of Golden Mile Management Consulting Services.

Earlier in his career, Ted was promoted to the Executive/Strategic Leadership Team within a major Canadian corporation as Director of Human Resources and Development. Thereafter, Ted was invited to join a prestigious management consulting firm in Toronto, where he spearheaded the Human Resources division of this practice. Ted obtained invaluable experience and expertise within the Human Resources field, while managing diversified projects and HR initiatives on behalf of notable Canadian corporations, high-profile multinational businesses and global clients.

With his flair for entrepreneurship and passion in owning his own business, Ted founded Golden Mile Management Consulting Services in Toronto, Ontario.

In the mid-90s, Ted was approached to manage a national Canadian industry association and to represent this group as its Executive Director for 5 years while concurrently operating Golden Mile Management. He expanded the association from 7 member companies to a vibrant, 35-member organization during a business climate of recession and global industry contraction.

As Executive Director, Ted chaired meetings with the association’s Board of Directors, routinely interfaced with provincial and federal governments, facilitated numerous marketing and technical committee meetings across Ontario and Canada, while also working with counterpart organizations in the United States.

Ted’s academic background includes Doctoral Studies in Human Resources and Organizational Development and an MA from the University of Toronto. His undergraduate degree is from Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, where he graduated with an Honours BA. Thereafter, Ted extended his Queens experience by completing a Bachelor Degree of Education in keeping with his interests in teaching, mentoring and coaching, with an emphasis upon athletic and sports-related development.

In conjunction with his academic pursuits, Ted was a key contributor on the 1978 Queen’s University National Football Championship Team, achieving All Star recognition during his final two seasons with the club. The 1978 team achieved and experienced a remarkable undefeated season. Ted’s athletic endeavours resulted in professional tryouts with two of the best teams in the Canadian Football League at the time: He was drafted by the Montreal Alouettes in 1979 and signed as a ‘free agent’ with the Edmonton Football Club in 1980. These notable CFL teams enjoyed Grey Cup Championship seasons in this era.

Ted and his 1978 Vanier Cup Canadian Championship teammates were inducted into the Queen’s University Football Hall of Fame on September 11, 2015.

Ted is actively involved with his family, youth development and contributing to community school/sports activities. He also has several years of Coaching (hockey) experience as a volunteer within the GTHL and Head Coaching (football) experience at the high school level. He is also engaged in fundraising, volunteering time and resources to various charitable organizations.

Ted continues to assist organizations, senior executives and individual clients as a seasoned Human Resource professional.
